Pupil Premium at Mendip Green School

freeschoolmealbenefitsandpupilpremium(2)

With the help of the Governors at Mendip Green Primary School we decide how to use the Pupil Premium allocation. This is money given to us by the Government for our free school meals children. We feel we are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for individual children. This is a statement from the Department of Education website:

It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium, allocated to schools per Free School Meal pupil, is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.

For the academic year 2011 - 2012 0ur total Pupil Premium was £51,728.00. Our Pupil Premium for the academic year 2012 – 2013 was £79,200.00

We use our funding as part of the schools whole budget to pay for:
Looked After Children support. 1:1 help in the classroom and specialist provision.
To support children with special educational needs. Those on School Action, School Action Plus and children with a Statement of Educational Need.
Teaching Assistant hours for small group intervention groups in Literacy and Numeracy.

Releasing time for teachers to provide small group or 1:1 support
Part of the cost of trips and visits for eligible children
